Charles Street, Sheffield
Main Contractor: Balfour Beatty
Architect: Bond Bryan
Scope: Structurally Bolted Assemblies
This scheme utilised some of the largest glass fins in Europe at over 8m in length, supporting a bespoke designed Saint Gobain LiteWall system.
Designed to link 2nr buildings together via an architecturally striking glazed bridge, and featuring some difficult rakes and a large glazed roof crank two-thirds of the way up one of the screens this project was remarkably challenging in terms of both design and installation.
A tower crane was utilised due to the extremely narrow and tight confines created by the building layout.
